Review of Invaders from Mars (1953) by Joe A — 17 Apr 2009
Sci-fi classic is a bit slow moving but being that it's supposed to have a surreal nightmare-like quality to it, that might be on purpose. Still the campy weirdness and low budget charm win you over by the time the military and the rubber suited martians (who do project a sense of menace) battle it out.
The kid at the pic's center played by Jimmy Hunt really carries the flick and pulls it all together. Nostalgic fun!
