Review of Intruders (2013) by Yiannis Z — 24 Sep 2012
"Intruders" tells the story of two families, one in Spain and the other in the UK. In spain, a young boy starts to get nightly visits from an enity called the Hollowface (because it doesn't have a face, you see) and in England, a young girl is also terrified by the same creature. As the families try to get to the bottom of things, Hollowface shows itself the mother in Spain and the father in England, leaving them both question their sanity...
"Intruders" has a good beginning, the story of the two familes unfolds to the audience and it is easy & interesting to follow. But it should have showed a little more ambition as we moved along, because going towards the end the story get's more boring by the minute and when we arrive to the clichéd and very unsatisfactory finale, it has lost all it's touch & magic. And on top of that Hollowface may have a cool and scary name, it look very much like the Nazgul from "Lord of the Rings" and the Dementors from "Harry Potter" crossover. No originality points there.
