Quirky and funny as you'd expect from the Coens- but that's just its problem. Unfortunately, it isn't as funny as the brothers' previous homage to the screwball genre, The Hudsucker Proxy, and lacks the visual flair one would expect from the writer/directors.
Good, sure, entertaining, definitely. But ultimately insubstantial and generally less interesting than their other films.
