Review of Into the Woods (2014) by Jessica D — 26 May 2015

For those who have seen the original- here is the film version! The original musical includes several more songs than in the film. Johnny Deep puts on a good show, so does Meryl Steep. Pity James Corden isn't quite up to the role of the Baker. Still there is singing, half naked princes and many laughs to be had. Hilarious and brilliant.

Yet the question that I want answered was why are the female characters somewhat toned down? Why was the princes song about well- finding new women to go after (despite being married) removed? Some of the changes from musical to film just don't make sense and make you wonder why Disney is making the girls look like chumps and the boys like champs? The original had them all being chumps!
