Review of Into the Woods (2014) by Emkadv — 01 Jan 2015
This is a good adaptation of the Sondheim musical. Most of the lyrics are intact and well-articulated so that you can understand them. The performances are generally strong in both acting and singing. The story line may get harsh, but no more so than the Grimm fairy tales on which it is based.
It's not as much fun as seeing the show live on stage, but it's a much better screen adaptation than A Little Night Music or Sweeney Todd.
