Review of Into the Woods (2014) by Kurt F — 22 Oct 2015

I like musicals but I from the first song I realised I had entered a Sondheim musical, this did not bode well. I had flashbacks of Sweeney Todd and it then it began. The repetitive vocal pattern, the internal voice as song, the same sounding noise for 75% of the songs, the headache.

But it was not all about the singing. The whole thing seemed disjointed, had no flow, no drama, no focus and was mildly amusing on one or two occasions. Whilst the idea is interesting and I have not seen the stage show, not that a comparison is relevant, this just did not work for me on any level.

Realistically I would give it a 2 but I still have a headache.
