Much like A Perfect Storm, I have a serious problem with books and movies that romanticize idiots who march off to their death in the wild despite the desperate warnings and pleas of family, friends, and authorities.
Then they cost the taxpayers thousands or even millions as we search for their corpse? I'm supposed to root for them?
