Review of Into the Storm (2014) by Adam S — 19 Dec 2014
In terms of special effects and formidable tornado scenes causing immense devastation this films gets top honors! I was in awe, not sure how they achieved it but with a $50 million budget, my friends they created spectacular scenes worthy of a Blu-ray rental or even download from Vudu, Apple or Amazon.
Told from the point of view of a found footage disaster film, it tells the story of a local high school senior class preparing for graduation in the town of Silverton, OK. Unknown to them a tornado is brewing and will hit Silverton with devastating consequences.
A special team of storm chasers headed by Pete (M. Walsh) and meteorologist Allison (Sarah Callies) along with a few camera men head over to Silverton in order to capture enough footage to create a documentary and sell it for profit.
Along the way they encounter a father desperately seeking his son trapped at a paper mill and the story continues. Overall, the acting was average but where the film shines is in their stunning portrayal of this fierce tornadoes including a fire tornado that sucks up one of the camera men.
The film earned 3X at the box office what it spent making it. So get your popcorn and beverage ready and watch INTO THE STORM for a wild ride! Satisfaction guaranteed.
