Werner Herzog knows how to make great compelling documentaries and continues doing that with 'Into The Abyss'. With the theme of the death penalty and the life on death row Herzog brings us an already much discussed topic, but he portrays it with so much humanity and respect for all parties that 'Into The Abyss' is a confronting film about the nature of violence and the meaning of humanity.
