Interview with the Vampire is the best existential vampire movie I've ever seen. The direction was superb with an appropriately dark mood and atmosphere that was consistently intense throughout. Just the overall feel of the film is amazing, with incredible set design and world building, making it stand out just as a period piece.
The dialogue and script was smart and always engaging.
