Review of Interiors (1978) by Ollie W — 22 Jul 2011
Fascinating Bergman-esque deconstruction of grief and family relationships. Allen's underrated 1970's film might be incredibly grim and uncomfortable, but it understands sibling rivalry and the bitterness of adulthood perfectly and demonstrates the sort of subtle genius only Woody Allen can wield, within the superb, darkly humorous, tightly woven dialogue and wonderfully complex, unlikable characterizations that would make Noah Baumbach weep with inferiority.
