Review of Inspector Gadget (1999) by David B — 12 Apr 2012
Bastards! This is really rubbish. I loved the cartoon of Inspecter Gadget and it's hip theme tune but this film is nothing like the cartoon. Sure, it's only credit is that it does have the Inspecters cool zany gadgets but that's it.
Matthew Broderick is wrongly cast as Inspecter Gadget, his acting is awful and sometimes embarrasing and Rupert Everett as "The Claw" is just as bad, the whole cast is awful. The special effects are not to bad but there are moments of very bad CGI.
The plot is poor and the dialog is bonkerly crap. One of the worst movies I've ever seen. I don't take if this is suppose to be a kids movie, I grew up watching the cartoon, how could they ruin that? Awful film.
This proves it's hard to adapt a film from a cartoon. Bad, very bad.
