Review of Insomnia (2002) by Sol H — 06 May 2011
I haven't seen the original (coming into this film unaware that it was a remake) but I now intend to. Judging this film, then, purely as its own entity, it's very good. A solid thriller. It's by far the weakest of Nolan's work from what I've seen (I'm yet to see Forgotten or Forgiving or Following or whatever it's called) -but that doesn't mean it's bad. It's a very conventional film, but shot nicely, featuring a good cast with a wonderful Pacino performance and it keeps you entertained throughout. Good shiz.
8/10.
