Review of Insomnia (2002) by Masame S — 21 Jul 2011
Insomnia makes a strong case that Robin Williams is better in dramatic film then he is in comedies. That's not saying that Williams isn't a funny guy but I think his comedy is more suited for stand up rather then film.
When a funny man gets deadly serious on your ass you sorta take notice. William is fortunate to have the likes of the great Al Pacino to play off in this cast which makes his performance better. Pacino gives new defination to 'sleepwalking' through a role.
He looked as bad as I did when I decided to forgo sleep. I shouldn't a have put this one off as long as I did because it came highly recommended. Not as great as all its praise but one of Williams best.
