Review of Insomnia (2002) by Rob W — 29 Jul 2012
I haven't seen the original, but I would like to think this is a very solid adaption. I really enjoyed the acting. I generally don't go for Al Pacino very often but he gave a solid performance.
I have yet to see a bad Robin Williams performance in a serious role. Hillary Swank did remind me a lot of Jodie Foster in Silence of the Lambs though, but still did good. I can't really say the writing was good because, after all, it is an adaption.
But for an "early" Christopher Nolan work with big name actors for the time he did a good job in direction. If psychological thrillers aren't you're thing than okay. But if you are up for it you won't be disappointed for watching it.
