Review of Insidious: Chapter 3 (2015) by Brandon W — 05 Jun 2015

For Insidious: Chapter 3, I saw from the trailers that it didn't look good because it didn't look scary, and it's not directed by James Wan which I felt was the only director who can make scary movies, although I only find Insidious: Chapter 2 to be a disappointing film.

I actuality didn't want to see it at first, but when kit got higher praise than the second movie, that surprisingly got me curious to see what can be so good about this movie, and it actually is a scary movie, although not as terrifying as the first.

With the new cast that I barely know one of the actors, it got me skeptical, but after seeing it, the acting is really great with some good performances from Dermot Mulroney and Stefanie Scott. There are a lot of scares that really got me a lot, even when I knew that it was about to happen.

The imagery is really creepy, and the atmosphere is effectively unsettling. The writing is great and I would've thought that the filmmakers would stop trying and just do it for the money, but there is a lot of effort in it.

The characters are very likable, and it's nice to see Elise not be just the person that explains the whole movie. I know that there are some people that don't like Tucker and Specs, but I still find them enjoyable and really funny, which this is no exception.

The Further scene is really chilling which I'm glad that they fixed it from Chapter 2. The soundtrack is really catchy, and the effects look really nice. It didn't explained about the origins of the demon monster which I was a little disappointed, and some of the characters just comes off and goes.

Insidious: Chapter 3 is a great horror film that is rare for a third movie to be better than the second movie.
