Review of Insidious (2011) by Solomon G — 06 Sep 2013

Theres nothing particularly new here, in fact its a bit of a mish-mash of tons of other haunted house type movies, but it still delivers a whole pile of good solid scares that'll have you jumping out of your seat.

This latest project from the founders of the Saw franchise starts off great, and the first half at least is a really excellent scarer, but it seems to lose its way a little in the second half, and doesnt really seem to know what type of beast it wants to be. It tries to be funny (with the 2 Ghostbuster type guys) and fails, and then also the final sequence inside 'The Further' is a bit dodgy, and doesnt really work. But all in all, its fairly solid, and I jumped out of my skin a couple of times!! Worth a look if you like that sort of thing!!
