Review of Inside Man (2006) by Mohd Hafriz H — 06 Jun 2011
This would've been another run-of-the-mill bank heist flick had Spike Lee not added his special flavor to it. Though I also tip my hat to the casting director for his/her colorful and diverse casting.
Spike Lee's directing made this film less about a bank robbery and more of a love letter to New York City's diversity. I loved the multiculturalism. You had black, white, Puerto Rican, Sikh, Italian, Armenian, Albanian and those are just the ones I can remember! What also made this film interesting was the extra level of intrigue and politics that take place while the robbery is being committed.
I recommend if you love New York and if you love Spike Lee...and if you love Denzel...or Clive Owen. Aw just go see it!
