Review of Inside Llewyn Davis (2013) by Simon D — 21 Feb 2014
A very good film, that is very engaging. It's very well directed by the Coens and is overall a very enjoyable film. Now I love the Coens, they are two of my favourite directors of all time and I am disappointed to report that this film is not one of their best.
However still very good. The cinematography isn't quite up to par with the rest of their films due to the absence of Roger Deakins. But the actual problem I have with the film is that it's script doesn't quite know what it wants to do with its main character.
Resulting in the structure of the film to be very ill paced. That being said this is still a great movie that I did enjoy for the most part, that I am sure will eventually grow on me. B+.
