Review of Inside Llewyn Davis (2013) by The3Academysins — 21 Aug 2018
Inside Llewyn Davis is one of those rare character studies that goes so far into the character study that it becomes an examination of the human soul itself. Llewyn is played incredibly well by Oscar Isaac in what is definitely his best performance, and Llewyn is a character you won't soon forget.
Llewyn is so interesting because his tale isn't actually the tale of a folk singer trying to make it big (it is for sure) but it is really the story of a man who can't get over the suicide of his best friend.
His actions and songs are heartwrenching and thought-provoking. The cinematography and soundtrack are some of the best I have seen in film. The Cohen Brothers really knocked this one out of the park, and it is a must-see.
