Wasn't sure I'd make it through the whole film. Harsh to watch the realist nature of the story unfold. If it weren't for the cat there wouldn't be an ounce of joy in this film, but that is how it was meant to be.
It is beautifully realised & I can understand why the Bros. may have wanted to depict this story. However it is also very bleak without any escapism or the kind of heroic hardship that movie-goers tend to relate to in a film with this level of depression.
