Review of Inside Llewyn Davis (2013) by Mark A — 28 May 2014
As the movie's title suggests, we are treated to a moving and perceptive look inside a musician's life -- one with amazing attention to detail, and a theme worth appreciating: society's abuse and objectification of musicians (and the musician's response and expression).
Without making the movie insincere or light-hearted, the Coen brothers incorporate humor that brings out hearty laughs yet fits in wonderfully -- even enhances our appreciation of the musician's humanity.
As a bonus, there is a great moment that is really one of the best awkward dinner table scenes I've seen.
