Review of Inside Llewyn Davis (2013) by Chris A — 12 Oct 2014
Sad, littered with dark comedy, and all around a Coen Brothers piece (with an incredible soundtrack) reflecting the era of the early to mid 60's music "industry" in New York City. Oscar Isaac, being the driving force, is excellent, proving himself not only as a great actor, but musician, to boot.
A must-see for music and Coen Brother fans, alike...but be fore-warned, this is no "feel-good" cinema. It's simply the Coen Brothers doing what they do best. Great supporting cast all around as well (Carey Mulligan, Timberlake, Garrett Hedlund, and, of course.
..John Goodman). All around, a piece of art in many facets.
