Sadly, I couldn't do this movie. I tried very hard to appreciate it, but unfortunately for me it was akin to watching the fith movie in a series without seeing the first four. There were interesting themes, but the lack of any hint of coherency scene-to-scene really threw me off.
To the film's credit, the director (Lynch) takes abstract film-making to a new level, one that I have not yet gained an appreciation for. Perhaps I will revisit this film after viewing his more mainstream films (Mullholland Drive, etc.
), but for me it was a dud.
