It's Lynch, you're not supposed to be able to write a synopsis after watching Inland Empire. You're taken on an existential roller coaster ride that crashes before it gets to the station. That's the point.
Sit back and enjoy the ride. However, don't try explaining "what it means". I, for one, enjoyed it. Beats hell out of Six Flags.
