Review of Initial D (2005) by Mark P — 21 Jun 2006
The thinking man's Fast and the Furious. It was quite slow paced and certainly not for the low attention spanned followers of the above mentioned movie franchise who require nothing but bright coloured cars racing in a straight line to a hip hop soundtrack.
This movie actually had a story inbetween the wonderfully choreographed downhill racing scenes. It was faithful to Shuichi Shigeno's manga original and its anime adaptation but did suffer somewhat by attempting to cram a large body of story into just 90 minutes.
However this didn't stop me liking it a lot.
