Review of Inherit the Wind (1960) by Richard T — 09 Jul 2007
I remember my dad and I watching this when I was really young and though I didn't fully understand everything that was going on, I got the jist of it. As I grew older, I fell more in love with the debates and ideals of the movie.
Be it ST's portrayal of Drummond (inspired by real-life legal legend Clarence Darrow) or the laid back way that Gene Kelley did the smarmy, irreverent agnostic reporter, E.K Hornbeck. It has been remade several times and they were all well done, but this one is the MASTERPIECE.
Spencer Tracy and Fred March were brilliant as Dr. Jekyll and Mr.Hyde many years before, and in this film, the chemistry is as sharp as ever!!! A must have for true fans of the silver screen.
