Review of Inherent Vice (2014) by Jace L — 24 Jan 2015
It is surprising that this film is not already widely recognized as the cult classic it will certainly become. This is not a normal movie, but it is an outstanding film in the tradition of The Big Sleep and The Big Lebowski.
In fact, I would suggest it IS The Big Lebowski of this time period. This is not a film that everyone will "get" -- and it may help to be little bit under the influence. It features great performances, a seriously twisted plot and will add substantially to the legendary status of Paul Thomas Anderson and Joaquin Phoenix.
