Review of Inherent Vice (2014) by Matthew F. J — 27 Jan 2015
Inherent Vice is a solid stoner flick set in the 60's, directed by the always brilliant P.T. Anderson. This time he embarks us on a journey in the life of Doc Sportello, a private investigator who's search for a rich man quickly turns into something more complicated than initially planed.
The film, although brilliantly shot and acted, is a bit long and does not make a lot of sense, somehow though, it happen to be entertaining thanks to a solid cast, some insane dialogues and a Joaquin Phoenix in top acting shape.
This might necessitate more than one viewing to fully make sense but if you are willing to tag along for this unique ride, you will have a great trip.
