Review of Inherent Vice (2014) by Charlie M — 22 Feb 2015
I would rather a film be difficult and challenging and well made, although flawed, rather than the alternative of easy-bake cookie cutter digestible art that has no substance. Paul Thomas Anderson is a rare example of what it means when we say auteur and mean it.
Inherent Vice is sometimes a hot mess, not for everyone but extremely enjoyable for those that are not content being spoon-fed art.
