Review of Inherent Vice (2014) by Caesar B — 21 Dec 2015
This was a cross between The Big Lebowski and American Hustle, with less success. Phoenix plays a drug-fueled PI in early 70's LA whose latest case uncovers corruption in the LAPD. PTA has all the tools to make this a great film, but turns out merely a good one.
The cast is terrific, but most of them don't get enough screen-time even though the film is 2.5 hours. I am a huge PTA fan and was expecting a lot more than he delivered this time.
