Review of Inglourious Basterds (2009) by Juanka P — 26 Jan 2017

Another genialiity of Quentin Tarantino. This movie took some inspiration from The Inglorious Basterds(1978), but it is not a remake, per sà (C). The plot: In 1941, Colonel Hans Landa (Christoph Waltz) arrives at a farm in France to interrogate the owner about some rumors that he is hiding a Jewish family. Landa ends up killing the family and all the Jewish family hiden underneath the farme's house floor. Everyone get killed, except Shosanna Dreyfus (Mà (C)lanie Laurent).

In 1944, an special force officer, Lieutenant Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) recruits a team of eight Jewish-American soldiers for a mission to go behind enemy lines to hunt German Nazi soldiers. He tells the soldiers that they each owe him 100 Nazi scalps. They are oreded to take no prisoners. For all this, they will be more known as the 'Basterds' Soon, Adolf Hitler (Martin Wuttke) will know about them, because any survivor that they decide to leave will be marked with a swastika on his forehead. One of the survivors tell Hitler how brutal the Basterds are, and especially Sergeant Donny Donowitz (Eli Roth), known by the Germans as "The Bear Jew" who beats them using a baseball bat.

IShosanna is known now as "Emmanuelle Mimieux" and she operates a cinema in Paris. She meets Fredrick Zoller (Daniel Brà 1/4hl), a German sniper and a national hero for the Nazis. The party decides to cellebrate Zoller with a movie to be played in Shosanna's cinema.Joseph Goebbels (Sylvester Groth) and Hitler will attend to the premiere. They don't know that Shosanna plans to get rid of all the nazis and their supporters in the cinema that same evening.

Meanwhile the Basterds plan to blow the cinema and they will plan to kill Hitler, Goebbels and the main board members of the Nazi party and the premiere of the movie might be their best chance to do it. AWESOME MOVIE. FIVE STARS!
