Review of Inferno (2016) by Gavin S — 22 Oct 2016
Nice scenery. Made me want to visit Istanbul. The film is mostly absurd with Dan Brown's hero running around following contrived clues to find a hidden virus that will kill off half of the world's population.
I say 'mostly absurd' because there is at the core the serious question of how we deal with the human population crisis. The movie's 'mad scientist' thinks that he has to kill half of us now to prevent extinction a bit further down the line.
Culling vs Extinction is a good premise for a story but it's not done well here.
