Review of Inferno (2016) by Bryanbezter — 07 May 2020
Weaknesses of the movie:
1. The story, character introduction & development, mysteries & clue solving, and action scenes are not as good as the previous movies.
2. Langdoon's disturbing visions are disturbing to see.
3. The visual effects are okay, but could have been improved.
Debatable holes:
1. Although Robert Langdoon had great memory, vast knowledge, and abundant experience, and Sienna was familiar and interested about Dante, they both figured out the added characters in the Map of Hell too easily.
2. When Langdoon, Sienna, Marta and the others were reviewing the CCTV footage, why did everyone but Marta have to go out of the room, just to be locked out?
3. The pursuers easily spotted Langdoon and Sienna in the crowd.
4. During the climax of the movie, only the main characters: Langdoon, Elizabeth and Sims did meaningful actions, although they had the manpower.
5. The artificial reality and clue solving quest for Sienna set by Zobrist were too complicated but luckily successful.
6. What happened to Ignazio?
7. How could Langdoon and Ignazio successfully steal the Death Mask and got away?
Message from the movie:
People are sometimes misguided and blinded that they do something reasonably wrong for what they believe to be love, humanity, world, mankind, truth, betterment or anything.
