Review of Inferno (2016) by Ashley M — 28 Oct 2016
SPOILERS AHEAD.
I was so excited to see this movie. I loved the book. It was so thought provoking. BUT they changed the whole ending! The ending was the whole point of the book.
In the book when they go to try to stop the release of the virus, they discover it was already released and decide to just let it happen. The "bad guy" Zobrist ideas end up being somethign they actual all agree with and you see him in a different light after thinking the whole way along that this virus should be stopped. A very interesting discussion about humanity and it's impacts on the environment and the survival of the planet in general happen. But in the movie, they save the day and the virus isn't released. The virus in the movie also is suppose to kill half of all people on the planet. Which wasn't the point!!!!!!!!! I was so disappointed and really wondered why they didn't go with the original ending.
