Review of Infernal Affairs II (2003) by Adam K — 22 Jul 2008
After a sluggish first quarter or so, IA2 picks up with the brilliantly-executed, Godfather-esque simultaneous assassination of Ngai's four associates - and doesn't let up. The performances are excellent, Anthony Wong and Eric Tsang equalling, if not topping, their work in the first film, and Francis Ng blowing everyone away with his quiet power.
The cinematography is excellent, as usual, and the music is some of the best music I've ever heard in a film. Overall, not a patch on its predecessor, but a very good film in its own right.
