Review of Infernal Affairs II (2003) by Victor F — 23 Jun 2009
What a great film. Not quite like the first - somewhat slower in pace, but wow, what a great story, plot and performances. If you liked Infernal Affairs it's more than likely that you'll enjoy this one as well. Particularly well done is the development of the characters which, in contrast to many films of the same genre, are often "grey" rather than black or white. A bit of the usual Asian melodramatics, but that is to be expected. And, as others have mentioned, some similarities to The Godfather, which I'm sure lent some artistic influence to the film.
If someone in Hollywood hasn't bought up the rights to this already, they bloody well should - soon. Just don't mess it up.
