Review of Infernal Affairs (2002) by Alice Y — 28 Jun 2008

This Hong Kong cop film had such a nifty premise that when I originally saw it four years ago, I just KNEW Hollywood would do a remake; the cynic in me did not expect that remake to become "The Departed", winner of a "Best Picture" Academy Award! While this original effort lacks the epic scope and depth of Martin Scorsese's film, it's still one hell of a thriller and makes the most of its clever storyline.

While "The Departed" had a Hollywood A-list cast, this has the Hong Kong equivalent, with some of that country's finest actors all giving top-notch performances.
