Review of Infamous (2006) by M. K — 17 Feb 2007
Inferior to Capote, unfortunately, but still quite strong, and thankfully, this version doesn't view Truman as a scumbag. The talking head thing doesn't really work, that is until the end when Sandra Bullock as Harper Lee gives a moving speech about expectations.
The romance between Truman and Perry Smith could have been handled a bit better; it just spontaneously appears 3/4's into the movie, but it does end on a touching, deeply sad note. Plus, Sigourney Weaver and Isabella Rossellini are still super fabulous.
