Review of Infamous (2006) by Dawdlingpoet — 25 Nov 2021
I thought this was a very intriguing movie - it seemed quite absorbing as the more the plot continues and develops and the more we get small glimpses into Truman Capotes life (or what we presume it to be), plus his dealings with Perry Smith, the more I wondered what the outcome would be, regarding the novel and the ending to the film if nothing else. This is based on what I believe to be a true story, one I know little about but this is only a review of the film anyway so that shouldn't necessarily matter. I felt that this was quite good for a character driven film, as it certainly has a very interesting main character and I could see it made for a rather thought provoking movie, questioning peoples perhaps automatic judgements and predjudices of or towards people. This is by no means a fast action movie but it certainly kept my interest throughout and I thought it was a well made movie - even the camera angles used seemed quite well thought out.
I'd recommend this movie, as I felt it was quite engrossing and its a good example of a character driven drama. The performances are good and it has a decent running time of approximately an hour and fifty minutes, not perhaps overstaying its welcome(!), plus I thought the dialogue was good, hence the recommendation.
