Review of Indochine (1992) by Nathalie B — 09 Jul 2007
A superb film, taken all round. The story is long, but because it is, it develops fully. The acting is superb - Deneuve is spectacular, though she alone could not have carried this film. The directing and sets give a superb flavor of the era.
The music score, denounced by some as not original is actually quite good, but tends to make it more of the epic that it is than a cultural or period piece. One of my favorite foreign-language films.
