As a gamer, I largely stay in the loop of the up and coming indie game companies. So go on the amazing success and eventually become household names (Valve, Double Fine) and some stay indie companies even with success (ThatGameCompany. Indie Game: The Movie is a story of 3 of the biggest and best indie games of the past few years. Braid, a deep and engaging story of a simple game, is mainly just shown as a reflection on the success of the game wit discussions with the creator. It helps you understand that even when you can be the most acclaimed indie game of all time, the true purpose of what you want to do can get swept up in a sea of ignorance (A player who posted a YouTube video of himself playing Braid and rewinding over and over says, "It's fun and all but there ain't no real point to the game at all, it's a just stupid.").

"Team Meat," the company that created Super Meat Boy shows all the details of a social life and how even a distributor can sometimes screw you over, but even with all this the success can be amazing. The "fez" part of the story shows the legal and stressful side of making a game, and how you could be so close, but literally so far. The film treats the developers with such a respect that it's almost undeniable that these are people who's jobs have the same importance as you whether you be the president or the garbage man. Whether you play games or respect the developers or not, by the end of the film you will have a new found respect for the industry and the people who work their asses off to make you have a little fun. 5/5.
