Review of Indie Game: The Movie (2012) by Paul L — 26 Jun 2012
Despite the title this fascinating documentary is not so much about the games themselves but more about the people who create them. Each of the likeable programmers create games for very different and personal reasons, but all of them use it as a way of communicating to a world that would otherwise ignore them.
It is hard not to be inspired by the creative talent and passion shared by each of the programmers as they obsessively strive to express themselves through their creations. It is a beautifully warm film full of charm, imagination and drama, and if you're not rooting for them on the day they finally launch their games then your heart is made of pixels.
