Review of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) by Ken S — 12 Jun 2012
"Temple of Doom" is a great follow up to the fantastic "Raiders of the Lost Ark". The film goes darker, and as a result doesn't sit as well with some fans of the more lighthearted first film, even Spielberg himself has been critical of the darker tone.
But I for one still think this film is quite good, an enjoyable movie with enough good sequences to feel like it is still in the Indy series, without just being the same old gags reused. I like Short Round (even though some don't), but I could never find the love for Willie that I found for Marion.
The villain is great though. How can you not enjoy the heart-pulling out scene? Well made sequel (or prequel) in the Indy series.
