Review of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) by Jack H — 15 May 2017
The John Williams score is epic as always, Harrison Ford still gives a great performance, most of the fight scenes are still plenty of fun to watch (even if some of the fighting moves displayed are pretty dumb), and the villain is admittedly badass.
Despite all those advantages, the story is very stupid and nowhere near as exciting or as meaningful as the ones presented in the first and the third movies, both of the main character's sidekicks are really annoying (especially that useless blonde chick who overreacts to everything she encounters), and the acting on both of those sidekicks is just obnoxious.
As much as I hate to admit this, the bad stuff in this movie is actually bad enough to outweigh all the good things it has going for it, resulting in the worst Indiana Jones film of all-time (yes, even worse than Kingdom of the Crystal Skull).
