Review of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) by Alex M — 28 Jan 2014
Temple of Doom may lack some of the light-hearted spirit that made Raiders of the Lost Ark so good, but it's still a grand adventure that is in many respects just as fun as the other Indiana Jones films.
Harrison Ford still rocks the title role, and Kate Capshaw proves to be an often times hilarious sidekick; oh, and I can't forget Jonathan Ke Quan, who adds even more fun to the team. These side characters could have been cliche and annoying, but thanks to some great performances and expert writing, they turn out to be quite the opposite.
I once again thought the villain(s) in this film weren't all too memorable, and it's not quite as strong in the entertainment department as its predecessor was, but Temple of Doom is still a solid entry and certainly another winner from Steven Spielberg.
