Review of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008) by Jesse C — 31 Oct 2014
Not awful but easily the worst of the Indiana Jones franchise. This is a perfect example of a 2000's sequel to an 80's series where lazy CGI was substituted for good, innovative practical effects. Indiana Jones apparently used the long hiatus to buildup ludicrous superhero powers in the meantime.
And how Shia Lebouf keeps scoring work in gargantuan summer tentpole movies baffles me, his intro on a motorcycle clad in leather, recalling Marlon Brando is particularly irksome. This guy has an irritating, rapidfire, neueotic screen persona thats utterly annoying (and it seems his offscreen personality is just as bad these days). Every great series has its one bad installment that fans would rather forget and unfortunately this is it for Indy.
