Review of Independence Day: Resurgence (2016) by Michaela F — 25 Nov 2016

Easy to long to wait for a sequel and redirect the audience to still be interested in the same old characters and their families after 20 years. This movie does nothing to set up that connection, so you feel nothing for anyone lost in the battle.

Speaking of the battle is very weak and reminiscent of the first one. No big flat for the aliens. In fact the movie makes a point to mention their technology hasn't changed in 20 years! So any alien race with vastly superior technology to earth, didn't make any advancements in the last 2 decades?! Hard to believe.

so was this movie. Lots of plot holes and just a boring, copycat story from the first one.
