For a science-fiction movie about the invasion of aliens that is openly centred on special effects this one isn't so bad after all, as it is quite entertaining, avoids overtly complicated storylines and even offers us some recognisable images like the blowing up of the White House.
Out of disaster movies that were produced in the nineties, this one is among the best.
