Review of Independence Day (1996) by Robert L — 08 Jul 2016
The film that redefined the modern day blockbuster and propelled Will Smith to superstardom. The chemistry between the three leads is perfect. Will Smith is heroic, Bill Pullman is presidential and Jeff Goldblum is.
.. Well, Jeff Goldblum. An extraordinarily entertaining movie that is fully aware of what it is and doesn't try to be anything, which makes it all the better for it. Roland Emmerich is at his best here.
A film that is full of action, emotion, patriotism, one-liners and just too much fun for one film.
